Speak by Nish Weiscth
This book is a must read for those of us who say we have no story to tell. Weiseth would disagree with you. We all have a story to tell.
Just what is story? When the term is used it means the sharing of one’s life experiences with another. Pure and simple. There is nothing to be scared about. But for most of us we don’t do this.
We have to ask ourselves what part of the person’s story do I need to know to understand what he or she is telling me right now?
A story tends to be powerful. They can be indentified with.
If we want to reach the generations we need to connect with them on their level. And listening to what the story conveys is part of the experience.
Weiseth is a millennial which she defines as the generation over educated and underemployed. That definition fits all generations from the baby boomers to the present. Yet in the story is the line to connection. Unless we listen to the story we will not understand completely what the problem is or the solution.
This book is an eye opener and a call to communication. This book gives a person hope for the millennial generation of believers. They are just communicating on a different level than the generations that went before them.
I would recommend this book for people who are looking for a way to communicate with their peers.
