The Ten Commandments by Dennis Prager

Let me take a moment to point out a small book by Dennis Prager. He looks at the Ten Commandments given to Moses by God as a set of moral codes which should be considered by everyone.
These are not codes thought up by man nor are they restrictions placed upon a group to limit their enjoyment of life.
Prager calls them the best moral code ever.
This small book comes out of his classes taught on the subject. He handles each one separately, sometimes using the Hebrew meaning to clarify.
For example, the word in our English translated kill in the Hebrew means murder. "You shall not murder."  The translators have it correct in the English Standard Version.
Prager points out that a person doesn't have to be a Christian, a Jew, or even a believer in God to get the benefits found by keeping them.
Prager has a series out on the web covering the Ten Commandments and he has taught the section at the American Jewish University as well as the Hebrew Scriptures.
He has a radio program .
On the web he has a university, www.prageruniversity.com, that has some video lessons.
This is an important addition to the literature on the Ten Commandments God gave to the Jews and through them to the world.
A place to interact with each commandment is included  at the end of each chapter so it is also a workbook.

Through a Man's Eyes by Shaunti Feldhahn & Craig Gross

I have some good news. Males, we are normal. There is nothing wrong with us When it comes to our response to a female, we are normal. Our response to the sight of a female is wired into us.
We are different from a female. Despite what you have been told by the media, it has always been this way. Males are not broken or obsessed. Males are visual and see the world through the prism of sight. They live in a culture filled with many images that are best kept for private viewing.
So men, have you wished there was a book you could give to your girlfriend or wife that would help them understand you when it comes to your visual nature? Here it is.
It is published by Multnomah Press so it is sound. There is no weird off the wall details to cloud the issue.
Each chapter examines the unique wiring nature of the male as a diamond appraiser would the diamond.
This book is subtitled helping Women Understand the Visual Nature of Men. It does a good job.
As it is written for the female to better understand her man It is suggested the man read this book first and then give it to his wife to read. After this, not before, you can have your discussion.
I highly recommend this book for that pre-marital session.

The First Family Detail by Ronald Kessler

A good book covering the unrevealed to the public details of the people we put in office as presidential material. But not only that, you also need to understand how our elected leaders are using the secret service people assigned to them. We also need to understand the limitations put on the secret service.
Our secret service is weak but mostly because of the lack of backbone in the leadership.
When Lincoln signed the order that formed the secret service the purpose was to seek out counterfeit bills. It has since evolved in to protection of the president, the vice president and families. Thus the meaning of the title.
Not all the presidents and candidates want them.
An example is Hillary Clinton. Earlier I did a review of HRC. The sad thing to realize is she treats the common folk poorly. “She is so nasty to agents that being assigned to her detail is considered a form of punishment.”
Biden is no better. He has the person carrying the nuclear football ride in a car at least a mile from where he is traveling, thus leaving America open to attack with no chance to fight back.
Reagan had the man with the football ride closed to him when he was out in public.
The weakness also comes in the feeling that no one has their back.
This is a book revealing of the holes in the system and what need to be patched.
I was sent this book gratis from blogging for books for review.

7 Secrets To An Awesome Marriage by Kim Kimberling, PhD

We all enter marriage with blinders and expectations. We figure we can wing it and all will be fine. We feel if there are problems it is the other person who brought it about.
Our childhood instills in us an idea of what life is suppose to be and we drag these ideas into our relationship with others.  These expectations can turn into insanities often oblivious to us.
When we look for a mate we will drag these expectations into the relationship.
So what is this book about and why should you be reading it?
First off you must admit there is a problem and it can be fixed. Kimberling presents you with 7 secrets to help patch the insanity.
Secondly, love, it has been said, can be blind. That may be so. But living with a person in marriage is not a state to be in with blinders on.
The seven secrets will help make the marriage enduring. Average or below average just won’t cut it.
I recommend this book for all premarital classes or even for any person seeking a better relationship. Dr. Kimberling is a professional counselor and knows what he is talking about.
