Strengths Based Marriage by Jimmy Evans

Better relationship

Each one of us has a bundle of strengths that we carry into our marriages. Knowing these straights will help you better to know yourself and your spouse. We all have twenty-four but the top five are the ones we should get most acquainted with. Your strengths will not match hers and this is where the fun begins.
And the battles steam from this fact also.
The book is written by two people who can help you understand yourself and your spouse in the strength area you bring into the relationship.
Jimmy Evans has a television program he does with his wife concerning marriage. Allan Kelsey brings the certification for Gallup Strengths and therefore relates as a couch. They both try to break new ground in helping the reader understand where the strengths are and how they can be used in marriage.
Each chapter concludes with a short questionnaire to help you think about what was covered.
Don’t be one of those marriages that break up.
The whole thesis is based on the results you can get when you take the Gallup’s Strengths finder 2.0 assessment. The details of how to get the assessment is listed at the end of the book as well as the place you can go to see a group of  seminars on Marriage Today held by Jimmy Evans and his wife.
I recommend this book for marriage counselors. It is not very useful for premarital sessions.

9 Thoughts That Can Change Your Marriage by Sheila Wray Gregoire

It seems there are many secrets to making a good marriage greater. For true intimacy and joy in marriage you will be told, there are steps that must be taken. The motivation for the marriage must be challenged.
Is that true? Do you really need to know everything before you can have that marriage you want?
These aren’t secrets. They are plainly thoughts that when considered maybe could help you.
Your reviewer is male so I could be missing something here.  Since this book is written from one woman to another woman it sometimes goes over my head. But the principles are firm. They can be formed from the principles of the Bible. It isn’t that men are slow. We just think differently from women.
Women are made to be responders. These thoughts will help the responding mechanism. Men would also be wise in taking a look at the principles presented.
Gregoire knows what she is talking about . She has a happy marriage to test this on. She has decided to share it with the female .
I was sent this book gratis as a member of Blogging for Books. Com to be reviewed. I was not required to like it. All opinions expressed are those of the reviewer and don’t reflect the views of the publisher.

Real Marriage by Mark & Grace Driscoll

Real Marriage     In 241 pages the Driscoll's attempt to give a marriage advice book. It is a welcome addition to the genre  of  Christian life material. The messsage they are trying to get across is that marriages can be blessed by God when we realize that He was the founder of marriage. There is a whole book in the Bible on the subject. That book is the Song Of Solomon.
The book, is laid out in three parts. The first part is on marriage. The second part is on sex. The third part, which is the shortest, is on the affects of the marriage union when we reach the last day.
The book was interesting to me. It was, I feel, a good addition to an area that most Churches are silent about or at the most hush-hush about. I felt the second section on sex was a bit graphic and more than you needed to know. It is for that reason I think it is a book for married people.
The information was present in a conversational manner. It is done in a respectful tone.
The authors were able to convey Biblical truth.
I received this book free of charge from the publisher through the BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I expressed were my own.
