Redemption by Bryan Clay

          Just what can God do with a praying mother and a rebellious son? God is sovereign and is able to mold that rebellious child into someone who makes something of his talents.

            In this autobiography we see just that. Bryan Clay may have grown up to be an example but he was not anyone to follow as he was growing up. His birth father divorced his mother. He reacted to that lost. Even though he had  become a Christian at an early age his behavior did not show it. He wasn’t committed to following God.

              But he had a praying mother who saw potential in him. Clay went on to find his way to  work out his rebellion in track and field. From there he went on to become an Olympic contender.

            It wasn’t always easy. Clay shares his struggles. That makes his story an important one for young people.

            The title is a good one. As I noted, this story shows how God can use a broken life and make something of it. If Clay had a perfect life his story wouldn’t be worth reading. His humbleness shines through the tale. It is truly an example of what God can do with a praying mother and a person willing to be used by Him. Not everyone will become an Olympic contender. But everyone can be committed to God.

True Writer

    If you are for real, if you are a writer, you will write no matter what. You will use notebooks to jot down your ideas.  Don't edit just write.

    Be curious. Ask questions, even if only within yourself. Jot these answers you get down in an idea book or a journal. A common composition book as seen above will do nicely. You will be transferring these notes to your final manuscript shortly.

     Do research. Not everything is known yet by you. But you will soon find out. Have a library card. The library is the best place to do your research. They have the encylopedias, the dictionaries, the books, etc that you will need as the first place to look.
      And write. Write. Write. And someday  I will be reviewing your book here.

  

Books to come

  I don't want you to think I have forgotten this, my book blog. I am presently setting up books to be reviewed. Hold on as I plan  to read and review The Help by Kathryn Stockett, copyright 2011. I just found it this morning in our local library here in Santa Monica. I was thinking of downloading to my Kindle the text, but something was saying to me to waiting until it got in our library.
    I listened to the voice. (No, It is merely a phrase. I don't hear vioices)
   Another book is America the Last Best Hope Vol 3 by William Bennett This one is copyright 2009. It came as a book to be reviewed as a blogger for Booksneeze. So that is to come.
   Just wanted to check in and keep this blog going.

WordPress Help

The other day I was looking around for a book to help me with my blogging. I ran across "Sams TEACH YOURSELF WORDPRESS in 10 Minutes" by Chuck Tomasi and Kreg Steppe. Now I realize you are reading this post in blogpost but I figured that the concepts atre transferable.
  This small book has 13 chapters. Some chapters are longer than others because the information covers a bit more details. You learn how to configure your profile, how to create your posts and pages, also how to use RSS. These subjects are also needed in any form of blogging. Since this is a blog I find that I need information so as not to make a blog that makes no sense. We all need instuction.
  I only wish I could find one on blogspot so that I could better post to this.
  Please comment if you have suggestions. Any input would be welcome.
